Colter Mentions Gina Picket’s Cold Case In Tracker Season 1, Episode 9
Colter Investigates A Cold Case In Aurora, Vermont
InTracker’s first season, Colter Shaw investigates a cold case similar to Gina Picket’s disappearance, and it causes him to subtly bring up Gina’s case. When working together, a local law enforcement officer who previously worked on Lana Russo’s case,Detective Helen Brock, asks Colter if there are any cold cases he"can’t quit"investigating despite a lack of progress. Colter remarks that there’s one case he can’t quit, in addition to the death of his father. Although it isn’t connected inTrackerseason 1, Colter’s remark references Gina Picket’s case.
Detective Helen Brock: “You have any cases you can’t quit?”
Colter Shaw: “One. From when I first started this job. And the death of my father.”
InTrackerseason 1, episode 9, “Aurora,” Colter looks for a missing teenage girl named Lana Russo after her father believes he sees a picture of his daughter in the local newspaper. The emotional reunion is one of the best of the show’s runwhen Colter follows the clues to reunite Lana with her father after three long years. However,Colter inTrackerseason 1fails to highlight why the cold case is so significant to him. The whole picture doesn’t come into view untilTrackerseason 2, and even then, it’s subtle.
Why Tracker Season 2 Needs To Solve Gina Picket’s Case Sooner Rather Than Later
Colter Needs To Move On
Colter needs to tie up Gina’s case sooner rather than later so that he can move on and figure out what happened regarding his father’s mysterious death.Colter’s interest in Gina’s case has overshadowed his involvement in Ashton Shaw’s mysteryin season 2. The tracker uncovered vital details in his family mystery at the end ofTrackerseason 1, but Colter has yet to follow up on those developments in the show’s sophomore outing. While drawing out Colter’s mystery somewhat makes sense, season 1 did a better job of sprinkling Colter’s family into the narrative.
Fortunately, Colter’s Gina Picket case could come to a head early in 2025.
Fortunately, Colter’s Gina Picket case could come to a head early in 2025, with theTrackerseason 2 midseason premiere synopsispromising Colter will progress in his white whale case. Colter’s potential conflict with Teacher behind him means he can refocus on what happened to his father. After finding answers for Camille about what happened to her sister, the progress could encourage Colter to seek a resolution to his family’s mystery, including his mother and sister’s mysterious involvement. That would be good news for Justin Hartley’s show heading into the back half ofTrackerseason 2.
