Warning: this article contains spoilers forTransformers OneTransformers Oneis one of the most well-loved animated films of 2024, bringing in a huge amount of praise for its characters, story, and writing. Despite somebox office woes,Transformers Onewill surely go down as a classic of the franchise, showing extremely well known figures like Optimus Prime and Megatron in a new light, giving audiences a chance to connect even deeper with these beloved characters.
Transformers One’s great castabsolutely helps to sell each of its scenes, with moments that would probably not hit as hard if the voice actors weren’t on top form. Seeing the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron on the big screen has helpedTransformers Onegain its glowing reviews, andplenty of individual quotes in the film reflect its core themes and the histories of the characters.

10"Down Here, The Truth Is What I Make It."
Sentinel Prime
Sentinel Prime is a great antagonist inTransformers One, who eventually becomes the central problem that destroys the friendship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. This quote in particular comes when he has kidnapped Megatron, Bumblebee, and most of the high guard after attacking their secret base on the surface. It is a great encapsulation of Sentinel Prime’s character, showing not only his arrogance but his desire for absolute control over Cybertron.
This line exposes both Sentinel Prime’s true character, and the differences in methodology between the central duo.

This line also shows howSentinel is the antithesis to both Optimus Prime and Megatron, but in very different ways. Orion Pax immediately wants to tell the truth to all of Iacon City, while D-16 wants to make Sentinel pay. This line exposes both Sentinel Prime’s true character, and the differences in methodology between the central duo.
9"Don’t You Want To Choose Your Own Path, Do Whatever You Want?" “We’re Miners. We Mine. That’s All.”
Orion Pax & D-16
This line is from the beginning of the movie, and it immediately gives the audience a solid look into whoD-16 beginsTransformers Oneas. He is not some hero looking to make the world a better place for everyone, like Orion Pax,he just wants to keep his head down and work within the system, trusting the process and climbing his way up to try and make a better life for himself.
The line also works to act as a point of comparison for later in the movie. Comparing the D-16 who says this to Megatron, shouting about order and justice and the death of leaders, is a great way of showing the character’s change.Megatron and D-16 are clearly distinct characters, with one looking to work his way up the system, and the other looking to burn it all down.

8“Nothing Can Stop Us If We Stand Together. Together As One!”
Orion Pax
When Orion Pax goes to the miner bots to ask for their help in defeating Sentinel Prime, they are quite hesitant to try because of their lack of transformation cogs.Orion Pax then delivers a rousing speech, something that he will no doubt become known for in his time as Optimus Prime, that includes this line, rallying the miners to his cause.
The quote obviously ties intothe title of the film,Transformers One,but it goes deeper than that. The phrase “‘til all are one” is a mantra that is repeated throughout theTransformersfranchise, a rallying cry used by the autobots to signify their hope to unite all the people of Cybertron again. Orion Pax using this word signifies him getting closer and closer to becoming the Optimus Prime that we all know.

7“What Defines A Transformer Is Not The Cog In His Chest, But The Spark That Resides In Their Core.”
Alpha Trion
This line uttered by Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion is an excellent line that signifies one of the central themes of the movie, thatpower in and of itself is not what makes someone great, it is what someone does with it. B-127, D-16, Orion Pax, and Elita-1 didn’t have cogs,Transformers Oneshows they found the Elder Primesanyway.
The line also cleverly hints at how D-16 and Orion Pax are going to differ as their journey progresses. D-16 and Orion Pax both get transformation cogs that used to belong to the great heroes of Cybertron, protectors of freedom and everyone on the planet. However, their paths obviously differ vastly in the coming days, as D-16 becomes a heinous villain, and Orion becomes a great hero.

6“I…Got…It.”
D-16
D-16 first displayed his aggression and hatred towards another when he learned of Sentinel Prime’s betrayal, but this line is where that aggression was first directed towards Orion Pax. While he was not shouting as he was in the cave, his intense demeanor directed at his best friend was very off-putting, both for the audience and Orion himself, teasingTransformers One’s ending.
This line is also very sudden, showing how quickly D-16’s turn will be. He goes from happily taking down a villain and exclaiming that they can finally transform to slowly and not-so subtly telling Orion Pax to back off and let him take charge, foreshadowing his eventual need for total control in a similar vein to Sentinel himself. The line is one of the first signs of D-16’s change inTransformers One, ensuring everyone knows that the worst is still yet to come.

5"You’re Inspiring. You Can Envision A Better Future That No One Else Can See."
Elita-1
This line fromTransformers Oneshows why Orion is the perfect leaderfor the team, and why he is the only one who would be capable of bringing peace to Cybertron. While characters like Elita or Bee are very capable in their own right, Orion/Optimus has hope.He truly believes that there is a better future for Cybertron ahead, and that he can help bring it to life.
Transformers One’s New Release Could Help Save The Movie After Disappointing Box Office
Transformers One has a final chance to redeem itself in the hopes of a continuation once it arrives on digital after its box office run.
This line also helpsshowcase Elita’s character growth in the film. She comes across as a very bossy and uncaring person, especially at the beginning of the movie, as she just wants to move up the societal ladder. Once she learns her life has been predicated on a lie, she needs to find something else to believe in, and she chooses Orion Pax.

4"Badassatron."
B-127
Even though it has such excellent characters, plot, and writing,Transformers Oneis still a comedy, and Bee’s attempt at creating a cool nickname for himself is a perfect example of that. B-127 is certainly the comedic relief of the film, andthe incessant repetition of his nickname, “Badassatron,” is definitely his funniest quirk, made all the more hilarious by Keegan-Michael Key’s delivery.
“Badassatron” is already the most iconic line from the film, as it is such an easy line to point to as the comedic tone of the film. While the joke is repeated many times throughout the movie,it sticks around enough to remain funny by the time the climax rolls around. The line is also a great introduction toa Bumblebee who can talk, a character that many might know from the live-action films as only talking through the radio.

3“I’m Done Saving You.”
Megatron
This line serves to indicate the final transformation of D-16 into Megatron. The buildup had been slow, with D-16 gradually becoming less and less concerned about his friendship with Orion, focusing only on getting his revenge. This line, accompanied by Megatron dropping Orion to his presumed death, shows that he has completely lost his way, andTransformers Oneuses Megatron’s red eyesas a further symbol of his transformation.
Transformers Oneshows that Orion Pax did cause a lot of strife for D-16, and although D-16 was happy to be his friend, he has always had issues with the way Orion operated. This quote extends that drama into Megatron and Optimus Prime’s relationship as well, showing that their issues have now superseded their previous friendship.

2“It’s Time To Show That We Are More Than Meets The Eye.”
The phrase “more than meets the eye” is also very important for theTransformersfranchise as a whole. It has a literal meaning, in that the Transformers look like simple vehicles, but there is more to them than that, but it also has a more metaphorical meaning that ties directly into the themes of this movie, in particular, howit is impossible to see who someone truly is just from the surface level.
Orion Pax may look like a simple miner, but there is so much more to him than that. Characters like Darkwing cannot see deeper than the surface level, but it is clear that Orion is a leader and a hero, the one who will save Cybertron when he is needed. What he was on the outside never mattered,he was always capable of becoming Optimus Prime.
1“Arise, Optimus Prime.”
There are many things a film has to get right in order to be great, but one of the most important things is the climax. It is the point where everything that the audience has gone through with the characters portrayed comes to a head, andTransformers Oneneeded to nail Optimus Prime’s origin. Fortunately, the film absolutely delivers, as the first time the name “Optimus Prime” is mentioned, backed by Brian Tyler’s excellent score, absolutely sells the moment as the birth of the greatest hero of Cybertron.
Crucially, this line does not just exist in a vacuum, as the scene of the rise of Optimus Prime is excellently juxtaposed with the fall of Megatron. Hearing “I am Megatron!” shouted to a crowd of shocked onlookers, before cutting to the whispered name “Optimus Prime,” is such a phenomenal moment that will absolutely go down as one of the best inTransformers One.
