Then, in 2008, Kim accidentally ran over her infant son, Joshua, killing him. From there, Kim’s oldest children began moving out of the house and criticizing their upbringing, with Kim at the center.
Kim started rebelling herself, first with her shocking divorce from Barry, and next by jumping into a new relationship and starting to drink. After her divorce, in October 2022, Kim was arrested for a DUI, which marred her reputation. Kim already had a sour reputation for her immature, careless, and destructive hold on her children, which was brought to light as the older kids spoke out.
Kim also financially manipulated oldest brother, Ethan, by using his credit cards, allegedly without his knowledge.
Kim does have a trauma background, but where her problem lies is in her maladapted nature and history of putting her trauma onto her kids.
Kim fails to be introspective, and she still has control over her three minor children in a co-parenting relationship with Barry.
