The Nine-Tails Attack refers to the incident that took place shortly after Naruto’s birth, when his mother, Kushina Uzumaki—who was thejinchūriki of the Nine-Tails Beast, Kurama—was kidnapped by Tobi and forced to release Kurama. Once freed, Tobi took control of Kurama and led it in an attack on Konoha, resulting in widespread destruction and numerous casualties.

That is, Itachi might have chosen —as most people likely would have— to prioritize his family above all else.
Considering the formidable abilities of the Uchiha Clan, combined with Itachi’s role as their “inside man,” it’s not unreasonable to think that their coup could have succeeded, at least initially. However, achieving success would have been far from easy. The Uchihas were just one clan, albeit a very powerful one, among several equally gifted clans, including their founding partners, the Senju Clan. Additionally, they would have had to contend with the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the village’s non-police security forces, and the ANBU special operations unit.
It’s also likely that the internal fighting would have invited attacks from other villages eager to pounce on a weakened enemy. Amidst the chaos, Kaguya’s minion, Black Zetsu, would undoubtedly have been stirring up trouble in any way that furthered his goal of bringing about the Infinite Tsukuyomi. However, if there was ever a clan capable of overcoming such adversity, it would surely be the Uchiha Clan.
The Dawn of Uchiha Rule And The End of Naruto’s Key Partnerships?
A Probable Route That Would Have Changed Everything
An Uchiha takeover would have profoundly altered the narrative. Most significantly,it would have eliminated one of the saga’s most fundamental and intriguingly complex storylines: Sasuke’s quest for revenge against Itachi and, subsequently, Konoha for driving Itachi to slaughter their own clan. Furthermore, the survival and subsequent control of the village by the Uchiha would have drastically reshaped Sasuke’s relationships, particularly with Naruto and Sakura. It’s unlikely that Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura would ever become friends, but could quite possibly become enemies.

Moreover, with the Uchihas facing constant pressure and resistance, it’s unlikely that Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura would ever become friends, but could quite possibly become enemies.

It could delve into darker themes, intricate character dynamics, and high-stakes conflicts while remaining true to the series' core elements. With the tradition of rich storytelling and beloved characters already “baked into” the narrative, this alternate timeline would have the power to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers, proving thatNarutostill holds awesome untold stories waiting to be discovered.
