Robbins and Common have held important positions in theSilocastsince the Apple TV+ show began in 2023. Although their characters have different responsibilities within Silo 18, they are both near the top of the society’s hierarchy when it comes to authority and knowledge about how the facility operates. With Holland and Sims still dealing with the substantial fallout ofSiloseason 1’s ending, their workload is greater than ever - and the strain is starting to show in their professional dynamic.

Bernard Is Keeping Secrets From Sims In Silo Season 2
Robbins' character has his reasons for keeping Sims in the dark
AlthoughBernard has often been shown to be more in-the-know than Sims,Siloseason 2 is doubling down on that particular aspect of their relationship. As well as seeking out the help of his former shadow, Judge Meadows (Tanya Moodie), Bernard also has yet to reveal to Sims the real story behindhow Juliette survived being sent outsideto clean. AsSiloseason 2 progresses, the tension, lies, and half-truths are all sure to grow.
What Happened To The Silo That Juliette Finds
Apple TV+’s Silo season 2 opens up with a very compelling sequence of events, picking up from the massive reveal at the end of season 1.
As mayor of Silo 18, Bernard has a huge responsibility on his shoulders. After seeing with his own eyes the macabre footage from Juliette’s camera - something else he has kept from Sims -Robbins' character is determined to keep another rebellion from breaking out. This already seems like an enormous task, but paired with the fact that Bernard doesn’t seem to trust anyone but Meadows, his goal suddenly seems even more difficult to achieve.

Why Bernard Doesn’t Want Sims To Be His Shadow
Sims knowing about Juliette’s fate is deemed too dangerous
It’s revealed in “Order” that Judge Meadows is the only other character to have visited Silo 18’s vault other than the current mayor. So, this makes her Bernard’s safest bet when he wants to brainstorm ideas about how to keep their secrets safe and prevent an uprising. After witnessing firsthand what happened whenJuliette discovered more than she was supposed to, it’s understandable that Bernard would want to keep everything very strictly on a need-to-know basis. By widening the circle to include Sims, the risk of a rebellion inSiloseason 2 grows even further.
