The Show’s Stories Are Bigger Than They’ve Ever Been

The Wheel of Timeseason 3’s mostly positive reviewsemphasize the sprawling stories that are going to unfold in the fantasy series' next chapter.Rand’s attempt to prove himself as theCar’a’carncan give him an army through the Aiel, which he’ll need to battle the Dark One’s forces as the Last Battle slowly approaches. As for Perrin, his focus is on a smaller fight to save his home, something that concentrates his character by giving him a broader purpose to prove himself as an individual leader. Both stories seem like they’ll be the most central to the upcoming episodes.

The Wheel Of Time Season 3, Episodes 1-3 Review: I’m Happy Characters Are Better Written Despite Slow Start

The Wheel of Time season 3 has the best character writing in the whole series so far, but a slow start and some meandering leave much to be desired.

Othercharacters inThe Wheel of Timealso have the spotlight, though, such as Liandrin, who is continuing to scheme in the background. While it’s unclear what Nynaeve and Elayne’s investigation will bring about, looking into the Black Ajah means they could discover more about her plans.Egwene’s dreamwalking story is also a prominent focus, not only because of her relationship with Rand, but also the torment Lanfear keeps putting her through in her dreams. The trailer signals these will all weave together to form a much larger narrative as the series continues.

Season 3 Has Plenty Of Exciting Moments To Come

It appears the biggest focus to come is Rand’s trials in Rhuidean to prove himself theCar’a’carn, something that will deeply impact his standing with the Aiel going forward. SinceThe Wheel of Timehas so many stories going on at once, however, it’s not yet certain how this will tie into the other travels everyone else will be experiencing. With five episodes left, there’s plenty of time for the series to expand upon its journey, promising bigger tales as the season unfolds.

New episodes ofThe Wheel of Timeseason 3 arrive Thursdays on Prime Video.
