A detail fromHouse of the Dragonseason 2 suggests thatAemond Targaryen has a fiancé in Westeros, yet she didn’t appear throughout all of season 2. Actor Ewan Mitchell plays Aemond in theHouse of the Dragoncast, and he’s done a fantastic job throughout season 2 establishing the Prince Regent as one of the show’s primary antagonists. With Aegon out of the picture for the time being, Aemond is the leader of the Greens, who are now crumbling under the pressure from Dragonstone, Driftmark, and Harrenhal, with Rhaenyra’s advantage increasing.
Alliances are massively important for the Dance of the Dragons going forward, and season 2 saw theBlacks and the Greensboth vying for support from the great houses of Westeros. Rhaenyra began the season essentially without an army, as most of her allies were unwilling to lend full-fledged support to the conflict. Meanwhile, the Greens have had forces guaranteed from House Lannister in the Westerlands, House Hightower and the banners of the Reach, and from House Baratheon and the Stormlands, due to the events of season 1’s finale.

Aemond Has A Fiancé In House Of The Dragon (But She Rarely Appears)
Aemond Made A Marriage Alliance With House Baratheon
Most viewers won’t even have noticed that Aemond Targaryen has a fiancé inHouse of the Dragon, as, the last time she appeared on-screen, they hadn’t been betrothed.Aemond’s fiancé is Lady Floris Baratheon, a fact that was instrumental to the Baratheons deciding to support the Greens in the first place. The Greens sent Prince Aemond, while the Blacks set Prince Lucerys Velaryon to treat with Lord Borros Baratheon in theHouse of the Dragonseason 1 ending, and the lord was insulted that Rhaenyra hadn’t sent him any offering.
Borros decided to align with the Greens, as Aemond had agreed to marry Lady Floris.

Lord Borros Baratheon has four daughters, known as the Four Storms, whom he’d offered up for a potential Targaryen marriage alliance. Since Lucerys was already betrothed to Rhaena Targaryen, he was incapable of offering himself to any of the Baratheon daughters. Borros decided to align with the Greens, as Aemond had agreed to marry Lady Floris. This isconfirmed by Otto Hightower in theHouse of the Dragonseason 2 premiere, who explains that the marriage pact is confirmed and that Borros will bring troops to their cause.

Before Aemond Targaryen used Vhagar to be an enormous menace, the dragon had multiple previous Targaryen riders over its 180 years of life.
Where Is Aemond’s Fiancé In The Game Of Thrones Prequel Show
Floris Baratheon Is Likely In Storm’s End During The War
Despite being betrothed to one ofHouse of the Dragon’smost powerful characters, Floris Baratheon never appeared in season 2. Neither she nor her father, or any other Baratheon character for that matter, has appeared since season 1’s finale. The season 2 premiere saw Rhaenyra watching the castle of Storm’s End from afar, but House Baratheon’s impact has been minimal in the show, and they likely won’t make a huge impact for some time. As for Floris, she’s probably waiting out the war in Storm’s End.
Storm’s End is one of thestrongest castles inGame of Thrones, and it’s one of the safest places in Westeros. Rhaenyra mentions rooting out the Greens' allies from their castles, but striking Storm’s End head-on, even with dragons, is far from her biggest priority. Marriage betrothals being postponed during wartime is also fairly common, as displayed by Robb Stark inGame of Thrones, who agrees to fulfill his marriage with a Frey daughter after the war ends. However, it might be strategically sound for someone like Aemond to wed and secure an heir before the conflict ensues.

House Of The Dragon Should Utilize Floris Baratheon More
Aemond Getting Married Could Show New Sides Of His Character
Especially given Aemond Targaryen’s rise to power, involving Floris Baratheon could prove to be an interesting dynamic, demonstrating an intimate relationship that might impact Prince Regent’s life. He doesn’t seem to be the most loving man in Westeros, butthe brothel scene early in season 2 clearly demonstrates a desire for romantic affirmation. Aemond has spent much of his adult life lashing out from anger, and it would be fascinating to see how a noblewoman in his life would affect his temperament.
At this point, there’s probably not much room for Floris Baratheon to play a role inHouse of the Dragon, as season 2 would’ve been the best opportunity. Aemond has already announced he’s leaving King’s Landing to begin his war campaign in the Riverlands, and the book sees him finding a different romantic partner during this stretch of time. Floris could appear again before the end ofHouse of the Dragon, but the show has already missed its opportunity to make an interesting character out of her.
