What’s Next For Overwatch 2?
Season 12 Is Already Heating Up
Overwatch 2’s debut on Xbox Game Pass will come just a few weeks after the start of Season 12, which officially kicks off on August 20. The next chapter in the controversial hero-shooter will introduce a newplayable character in the form of Juno, a Martian who is able to heal her teammates while dealing damage to enemies in the same breath. Much like Ana,she’s equipped with a primary fire that grants allies health and wounds the opposing team, and her broader kit is meant to facilitate aggressive pushes rather than defensive lockdowns.
Season 12 will also introduce the Clash game mode which is designed to expedite the usual flow of anOverwatch 2matchto ensure that players can get into the battle quickly. Teams will be competing for control of several points on a map that boasts streamlined movement routes to ensure a quick return to the fight. Two new maps are also coming: Temple of Anubis, which may sound familiar to fans of the originalOverwatch, and Hanaoka.

WhileOverwatch 2’s addition toXbox Game Passmay grant the game a quick injection of players it remains to be seen whetherit addresses its larger problems. With the announcement that Blizzard is considering reverting back to the 6v6 format of the original game, one can only hope the sequel can be salvaged.
